Harvest Time International Academy is here to help make more children successful................
Harvest Time International Academy has been in existence since 2004. It has been the design to keep class sizes small and add more to prepare students for life ahead, through exploration and travel for the students and families. HTIA is now recruiting more families so that its mission can continue to be fulfilled.
Students use Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum in a Learning Center environment. ACE is individualized, self-paced curriculum that integrates goal setting, integrity, and time management into the program. Learning is designed to progress students from concrete to abstract reasoning skills. Diagnostic placement testing ensures that students begin at the point of their personal academic need. In this way, students are able to fill their “learning gaps” without the stigma of failing a grade or course. The emphasis of learning is on mastery learning, critical thinking, conceptualization, cognitive reasoning, and life principles from God’s perspective.
Character traits – such as honesty, kindness, and loyalty – are taught within subject content. Testing includes memorization of Bible verses. Students attend chapel weekly and participate in music, art, drama, and PE. This well-rounded curriculum strengthens academic instruction with life skills, Bible truths, Christian character, and discipline in study skills and behavior. Students will be able to showcase their God given talents during competition on a state, regional and International level. High School Students are required to earn 27 high school credits for graduation, exceeding the 24 required by state law.
Harvest Time International Academy also reaches out to those between the ages of 18-21 who have not yet completed their high school education and only have a few more units to go to complete it to receive their high school diploma. HTIA believes that this helps our community be more successful in hiring great people who had a slight set back.
The administrator of Harvest Time international Academy, Dr. Sheryl Jackson-Johnson, is a 30 plus year educator who is passionate about education.
Harvest Time International Academy (HTIA) was founded in 2004 and is located in Charleston, South Carolina. The mission is to develop individuals who have versatile intellectual competence and uncompromising commitment who will thrive and contribute to this world and to the upbuilding of the Kingdom of God. Its objective is to offer quality education in a diverse environment to parents and children who will have a solid sense of who they are, and respect for who others are, as individuals, as members of a group, as citizens of their nation and as members of a global community. It is the goal to meet the needs of Parents who continue to look for alternatives and great opportunities to provide their children with an atmosphere where they can be safe, successful and surrounded by loving persons.
We are excited about our growth and how we hae been able to sustain until today. We are looking for others who would like to help us continue our growth through sponsorships, scholarships, volunteerism, and prayers. Our children need you.
Our school, Harvest Time International Academy (HTIA) is one of over 7,000 schools worldwide that use the Accelerated Christian Education program for K-12. Having an incredibly successful, 30-year, proven track record, A.C.E. has a well established leadership role in Christian education. In addition to being Biblically-centered, our program focuses individually on each student's unique aptitudes and abilities. The pupil advances only as he or she masters each academic concept, but, at the same time, is not held back by an arbitrarily set, conventional academic pace. Scripture memory verses, coupled with lessons on the character traits of Jesus Christ, are interwoven throughout the curriculum, to give meaning and purpose for the academics that are taught. The end result is an excellent, well-rounded, spiritual, and academic foundation in the life of each student.
